Trauma – an event that momentarily shatters our world – continues to live in us as an imprint in the nervous system. Hypnosis can change that imprint and relieve trauma.
Trauma, resulting from one or from several shattering events, keeps the nervous system caught in the flight-or-flight response. It sets us up for illness, mental and physical. It gives us an out-of-body feeling, with chronic anxiety, hyper-vigilance and sometimes also recurring nightmares.
With hypnosis, we can gently ease out of the fight-or-flight response and activate the body’s rest-and-restore response.
Alternating between the stress response and the rest response, we soften and release the imprint from the nervous system. We can cultivate a state of mind that is resilient and well resourced.
